I’ve recently written a blog post on the Lollia at Last hand cream which I love, and in that I mentioned that I also wanted to write a post on the Jo Malone Geranium & Walnut Hand Cream as it is one that I have also loved for years :).
I should start off with a disclaimer that I don’t think there is any Jo Malone product that I don’t like. Of course I have my favourites but I can’t say that I have ever tried something from Jo Malone and thought ‘no, that’s not for me’. With that in mind, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed with her Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream and I really wasn’t! I have also previously used her Vitamin E Hand Treatment which I absolutely loved so I knew that I would love this one too. I included the Vitamin E Hand Treatment in a very early blog post about my travel essentials which you can also read here :).
Packaging
To begin with, like any Jo Malone product, it is packaged beautifully. It comes in a signature Jo Malone box wrapped in a black bow. Presentation makes all the difference and Jo Malone never gets it wrong. As soon as you see that little cream box and you know that the contents are going to be good :).
Inside the box, the product itself comes in a very simple but classic cream tube with a black lid and the Jo Malone logo on the front. The hand cream comes in a 50ml tube so it is the perfect size for carrying around in your handbag too. It looks equally as chic just sitting out your desk or bedside table :).
Scent
The product has quite a subtle but very pleasant and delicate scent with notes of apricot kernel oil, geranium and walnut. In line with Jo Malone’s love for layering different scents, the idea behind the scent for the Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream was that it could be worn to complement each and every Jo Malone fragrance. I think this is such a clever concept as sometimes I avoid putting on a hand cream if it has a strong scent that I think will interfere or clash with a perfume I am wearing, but with this one I don’t have to worry about that.
Formula
The formulation of the product is thick yet surprisingly lightweight in the sense that it absorbs into my skin very quickly and easily. I love a thick hand cream as I have quite dry hands. It may be a psychological thing but I just think that if the hand cream is thick then it is working better to moisturise my hands lol. However, the last thing I want is a cream that is so thick that it doesn’t sink in and leaves a greasy residue on my hands as that will just make me not want to use it. The thick but quickly absorbing formulation of the Jo Malone Geranium and Walnut Hand Cream is just perfect.
The addition of the apricot kernel oils leaves my hands feels really soft and moisturised. It is a great hand cream to use throughout the day as you can apply it and carry on doing whatever you need to do without worrying about getting your hand cream all over your phone or your desk or whatever you may be doing.
Price
The hand cream costs £23 for 50ml, which like any Jo Malone product is quite pricey. However, it really is a beautiful product and whilst it might not be something you buy for yourself everyday it makes for a nice treat every once in a while. It would alo be a gorgeous gift to buy for any Jo Malone fan. I actually first got this one as a gift from my friend and I really love it :).
That’s it for this quick little blog post about the Jo Malone Geranium & Walnut Hand Cream. As always, let me know what hand creams you love or any that are on your wish list. I have a long list of others that I want to try out when I am finished with this one!
Have a great weekend everyone! x
