I’m not sure if I have ever spoken about Nars here on my blog before but it is a brand that I have been using for years, and I have yet to be disappointed by anything that I have tried from them. The Nars Laguna bronzer was one of the first ‘high end’ products that I bought and I have been using it on and off ever since I discovered it (at least 10 years ago).
Today I wanted to talk about a Nars product that I recently rediscovered and have fallen in love with all over again, as well as a new Nars product that I am absolutely hooked on!
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser SPF 30
I first tried the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser when I was looking for something a bit lighter than a foundation. When I discovered this one, I immediately loved it. It was lightweight and moisturising, but still gave pretty good coverage which you don’t usually get from a tinted moisturiser. To make things even better, this tinted moisturiser has an SPF of 30. There are also 11 shades to choose from which is unusual for a tinted moisturiser (I choose St. Moritz – Medium 1). To me, the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted moisturiser really gives you all of the benefits of a lightweight foundation.
It has an oil free formula that aims to protect your skin from the sun. It claims to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots in four weeks. I can’t say that I have noticed a drastic change in hyperpigmentation and dark spots, but that’s not what I bought this product for. My freckles have definitely been more prominent in this hot Abu Dhabi summer weather, but I am happy to let them shine through and the formula of this tinted moisturiser definitely allows for that.
Despite providing relatively good coverage, the product is very natural looking and just makes my skin look nice and healthy and natural.
The tinted moisturiser is infused with “naturally derived botanicals and ingredients to immediately help thirsty skin feel hydrated. Kopara from French Polynesia and mineral rich seawater revive and re-mineralise skin for a softer, smoother and brighter natural glow”. Whilst these are the words of Nars themselves, I really agree with them. My skin honestly does feel hydrated, and looks brighter and more glowy when I use this product and that’s exactly what I want from a tinted moisturiser / foundation.
The packaging of this product isn’t anything particularly special but it comes in a plastic tube that is lightweight, practical and hygienic so that’s really all that matters.
At £30 I do feel that this tinted moisturiser is definitely on the expensive side, but given that it performs just as well as many foundations on the market, along with the added benefit of SPF and other skincare properties then it is somewhat justified. It also has great lasting power and a little goes a long way.
I think I stopped using this in the past only to try out something different, but I am definitely glad that I gave it another go and I don’t think I will be giving it up any time soon this time round!
If you are into glowy, healthy-looking skin but still like a little bit of coverage to mask any imperfections then I know you will love this!
Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer
The next Nars product that I am currently loving is one that is new to me and that’s the Laguna Liquid Bronzer. I am a huge fan of liquid products, and given that I absolutely love the original Laguna powder bronzer I just knew that I had to give this one a go. I’m glad that I did because I absolutely love it and have been using it every day since I got it.
I particularly love liquid bronzers in the summer time when I don’t want anything too heavy on my skin and to give me a glowy sun kissed look without looking too powdery. I also find that liquid products work much better on my dry skin.
I know that a lot of people are afraid to use liquid products such a blush and bronzer for fear of them not blending in properly and just ending up in a complete mess, but I promise you that this one could not be easier to use. It is absolutely fool-proof. It has an extremely thin / watery consistency and I find that it works best when I use it with a beauty blender. I usually squirt one or two pumps of it onto the back of my hand, dip my beauty blender into it and dab it onto the areas where I would normally use a powder bronzer.
When I first pump it out onto my hand the product looks very dark and a little orange / red toned (which I usually hate), but once I put it onto my face it blends out to be the perfect shade. It’s not too warm toned or too cool toned and never looks grey and dirty. It is just the perfect colour and gives a natural sun kissed look.
The product comes in a heavy matte glass bottle and has a pump so it’s very easy to use. You only need a tiny, tiny bit of this product at once so I can see this one bottle lasting a very long time.
The liquid bronzer costs £27 which again is at the more expensive end of the scale, but given how much product you get and how a little goes such a long way, I think this is a reasonable price for this product. It is also extremely hard to find a really good liquid bronzer, especially one that lasts well on the skin. Most liquid bronzers tend to disappear from the face throughout the day but this one stays put!
I am currently absolutely loving the combination of the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser and the Nars Laguna Liquid Bronzer together. They are the perfect summer makeup combination.
Let me know if you are a fan of either of these products. I’d love to know if you have tried them too, or any other Nars products for that matter :).
Happy weekend everyone x
