It’s probably fair to say that Glossier has become one of my overall favourite skincare and makeup brands over the last two years or so. I have tried most of their products at this stage and I just find them to be products that I know I can rely on. To me, they are high quality products, at a reasonable-ish price, that do exactly what they are meant to do.
My latest order from Glossier contained a few repurchases of products that I have used before and loved, as well as three completely new products. Having tested the new products for a few months now I wanted to share my thoughts on them with you.
I have written blog posts about all of the other Glossier products that I have tried previously so if you are interested in reading those too you can find them here, here and here :).
Priming Moisturizer Rich – £29
I have quite dry skin so I am very fussy when it comes to moisturisers. I actually use oils to moisturise my face at night but this doesn’t really work for me in the morning, especially if I am going to wear makeup that day. Therefore, I try to go for something that really hydrates my skin without making it an oily mess lol. I hate the feeling of getting out of the shower and feeling like I need to put moisturiser on straight away as my skin feels so tight and dry. For this reason, I usually choose moisturisers that are quite thick and nourishing so that it doesn’t disappear as soon as I rub it onto my face. I also need my moisturiser to act as a good base for my makeup because the last thing I want is foundation sticking to dry patches on my skin!!
The Glossier Priming Moisturiser Rich is probably my favourite facial moisturiser I have ever used. It is called Priming Moisturiser ‘Rich’ because it is a richer version of their original Priming Moisturiser, which I also like, but the rich version is much kinder to my dry skin.
Glossier describe the product as a luxurious face cream and say “This dense sumptuous cream is rich in ceramides and fatty acids, reinforcing the skin barrier and locking in moisture over time. Our Anti-Redness Complex and Oxygenating Agent are the priming ingredients, instantly making skin a smooth, dewy canvas for makeup (or not)…… Formulated with a balanced, non-greasy blend of shea and murumuru butters to melt perfectly into skin for a supremely lavish hydrating experience”.
The benefits of the moisturiser are:
The product comes in a really nice heavy weight plastic / glass jar (50ml) with a pretty pink lid. The cream has a really thick texture but it melts into my skin easily. It also has a gorgeous scent of lavender because it contains lavender oil which is known for its antioxidant and skin-calming properties.
As soon as I put this moisturiser on my face it feels instantly hydrated, and it honestly leaves my skin moisturised for the whole day. It is the PERFECT makeup base too. It helps my makeup to blend in so easily and it makes my skin look really dewy even after I have applied foundation which I absolutely love.
At £29 I think this is a reasonable price for a product of this quality. It has become my absolute favourite morning moisturiser and I will definitely repurchase once I run out. This moisturiser is also definitely rich enough to use overnight too for an extra boost of hydration, but like I said, I generally stick to oils in the evening when it doesn’t matter if I look like an oily mess! lol
Mega Greens Galaxy Pack – £18
The next new product I tried from Glossier is their Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, which is a detoxifying face mask. I have used the Glossier Moisturising Moon Mask for over two years now and I absolutely love it, so when I went to repurchase it I noticed that I could buy it in a set with their Mega Greens Galaxy Pack. Given how much I love the Moisturising Moon Mask, I thought the Mega Greens Galaxy mask would also be worth a shot :).
Glossier describe the mask as ……..’Think of this as a juice cleanse for your face. Made with simple, natural ingredients, the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack balances and conditions pores while helping to calm skin. Using the gentlest, most nourishing creamy white kaolin clay, this cleansing face mask detoxifies by drawing out excess oil and impurities—leaving your face with a velvety-matte, clean finish. Beauty foods like vitamin-rich leafy greens and superfruit antioxidants deliver a potent dose of nutrients for when you need to press the reset button on your complexion. Basically, it does a lot of work, so you don’t have to’.
The benefits of the mask are:
The product comes in a 90ml jar and is a really thick moisturising clay mask. I apply a thick layer to moist skin and let it dry for about 20 minutes. Once I wash the mask off with a warm washcloth my face feels incredibly clean and smooth. Afterwards I like to apply a serum and oil to add some moisture back into my skin, because sometimes I find that clay masks are a little bit drying on my skin.
I try to use this mask about once a week as a detox mask and to get rid of any congestion on particularly bad skin days.
Boy Brow – £14
The last new product I tried from Glossier is their infamous Boy Brow, which is an all-in-one brow fluffer, filler, and shaper.
Boy Brow has to be one of glossier most talked about products and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to try it out. For years I have been using ‘Gimmie Brow’ by Benefit and for me, Boy Brow is like Gimmie Brow but has longer lasting power.
Glossier describe Boy Brow as a product that considers all brow needs – ‘one to thicken, fill in, and groom brows into place. The creamy wax formula is inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake. Comes in four shades: Blond, Brown, and Black boost brows with an oomph of color, while Clear gives you the same soft, conditioning hold minus the pigment’.
My brows are naturally a mousy brown colour and I really don’t like super dark brows on myself, but I do like to give them a little definition. I therefore use the blond shade and to me this is actually more like a light brown colour which is perfect for me.
I apply the product using the tiny spoolie brush which is great for brushing the product evenly through my brows. I don’t use a lot of product but it lasts all day long! This stuff doesn’t budge and it makes my brows look much thicker and fuller than they are! However, despite staying put all day, it isn’t one of these products that makes your brows really stiff and sticky. I don’t know how they do it?! I totally understand the hype and I wish I had tried this sooner!
Glossier describe the benefits of the product as:
That’s it for my latest Glossier review. I hope this was helpful to anyone who is in the market for a new moisturiser, mask or brow product :). Like I said, Glossier generally doesn’t disappoint so their products are always a pretty safe bet.
Have a great weekend everyone!
