A few weeks ago Dan and I visited a place in Dubai called Tania’s Teahouse. We just popped in for a quick coffee, not expecting too much from it, but this place was so cute that I felt like it was deserving of its own little blog post :).
The teahouse is located in a two-storey villa on Jumeirah Beach Road (not far from World famous icons such as the Burj al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah). From the outside it looks like a cute little home with a porch, pink door and window boxes and plant pots packed with colourful flowers. It’s entrance looks so adorable and inviting!
The venue also offers free valet parking and anyone who knows Jumeirah will tell you just how convenient this is!!
We opened the door of the teahouse to find the most beautifully decorated place I have seen in a long time, and we all know that I am always on the look out for pretty interior spots! This place was absolutely gorgeous.
By the entrance was a huge circular marble staircase with a copper handrail and pretty paintings and prints hanging the entire way up. Dan and I sat downstairs which was decorated in elegant rose gold, pastel and marble furnishings. The chairs were rose gold with pastel pink and green velvet cushions. If you know me at all (or read my interior blog posts, or my post on afternoon tea at Dukes Dubai) then you will know that these are right up my street lol.
The attention to detail was so evident throughout the entire teahouse. Everything from the cups to the menus, furniture, cutlery and wall prints were so well paired. It really is like a little dolls house with a very elegant and millennial feel.
When we sat down, Tania the owner came and introduced herself which I thought was really nice and welcoming. Tania’s vision for the teahouse is for it to be “a spot for a gossip before collecting young ones from school, to a place for the social-media-savvy millennials seeking Instagram’s latest food trends“.
Tania herself has always had a love for tea and became interested in the café culture during her time at university in Toronto, when she used to visit different cafes with her books and laptop. Tania’s Teahouse came about as a result of combining her passions for tea-blending, baking and crafting when she decided to create her own tea-themed café.
After speaking to Tania the waitress brought us over a basket full of little glass jars that had loose tea leaves inside for us to smell and choose from. All of the teas have been given playful names likes ‘Don’t Chai This At Home’ and ‘Jamaican Me Crazy’.
I opted for a ‘Don’t Chai This At Home’ latte and it was delicious! We also ordered some of Tania’s cookies which were made to look like a teabag on a string which I thought was such a novel idea. The string was also personalised with Tania’s Teahouse logo printed on it; again, illustrating the attention to detail in everything. Even the place mats (which were marble effect) had a little slogan that said ‘hey there, habib-tea’ which is a play on the Arabic word ‘habibti’ which means ‘my beloved one / my dear’.
There is also a shop area at the back of the teahouse where you can purchase tea themed goods like cute tee-shirts and cups. Even the tea and coffee disposable cups are super cute!
Dan and I spent around an hour there, and just before we went to leave, I popped to the bathroom which was another lovely surprise. The little bathroom cubicle was decorated in painted pink brick with cactus wallpaper! Adorable!!
Outside there is also a wall that has a leafy mural painted on it and this appears to be fast becoming one of Dubai’s popular new Instagram spots lol
That’s it for my little review of Tania’s Teahouse. I hope to visit it again soon for another Don’t Chai This At Home Latte 🙂
